Craig Curk’s time at Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio of the United States was an exceptional preparation for his later career in electronic technology. However, it wasn’t all work. Curk’s love of the game of soccer began when he was a kid, and continued through his days at Alter, which hosts the Knights mascot for a variety of sports, among them boy’s and girls’ soccer. Among Alter High School’s numerous Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championships are its achievements in Boys’ Soccer, with Championships to its credit in 1987, 1988, 1996 and 1998. Some of Alter High’s greatest sports rivals are Kettering Fairmont High School and Centerville High School. Alter also has fierce rivalries with fellow Catholic Schools Julienne High School, Bishop Fenwick High School and its twin school Carroll High School.
Kettering, Ohio’s renowned Alter High School administrators encourage school spirit in students like Craig Curk, and through various thematic and traditional events, such as Toga Night for the homecoming game and Friday Spirit Days fosters a sense of camaraderie and fun for students which will stick with them in the years to come. From these experiences as a teenager, Curk now coaches the U-15 soccer team in Kentucky, one of the participants in the Buckeye Premier State championship and 10th rank holder in the State Cup meet. Craig Curk holds a National D coaching license and has coached soccer since 2001, continuing his love of the sport through a commitment to the next generation of soccer players.
